Metricool is looking for a Labor & Payroll Specialist to ensure smooth and compliant labor operations in Spain while supporting our growing international team. You will have the possibility to work 100% remotely, contributing to an international and fast-growing startup mindset where all team members aspire to make a positive impact by assisting social media managers in becoming leaders in their field.
You will report directly to Horten, our People Lead, and will also collaborate closely with our COO, Laura, and the Finance team.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution and impact in various areas:
Payroll & Compliance:
Fully own Spanish payroll, ensuring accuracy and alignment with finance.
Guarantee that benefits are correctly reflected in payroll and fix discrepancies with Finance when needed.
Keep documentation audit-ready at all times.
Stay updated on Spanish labor regulations and implement necessary changes.
Control and register employee changes under EOR providers, ensuring smooth processes.
Resolve employee questions related to payroll and benefits.
Labor & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with labor risk prevention obligations, including training, courses, and certifications.
Monitor and advise on labor risks and provide solutions when issues arise.
Partner with external legal advisors when required.
People Operations
Support Talent Acquisition during onboarding by ensuring new hires’ labor-related documentation and processes are complete.
Maintain and update HR policies and internal documentation.
Handle administrative tasks, such as purchases or labor-related paperwork.
Team Supporter
Collaborate with Finance and People teams to improve and automate payroll and HR processes.
Identify gaps in operations and proactively implement improvements.
Act as an internal reference in payroll and labor topics, helping the company scale smoothly.
Long story short, what will your first days at Metricool be like?
First Month: you’ll familiarize yourself with the team, business, and processes. You’ll meet with Finance, People, and Talent Acquisition to understand workflows.
First Quarter: You’ll take full ownership of payroll and labor compliance, ensuring smooth collaboration with Finance and People.
To the Moon: You’ll be the go-to person for payroll and labor management, continuously improving processes while ensuring compliance and efficiency.
Job Requirements: You will be successful in your mission if you have:
5+ years of experience in labor management, with a strong understanding of Spanish labor regulations..
2+ years of experience in payroll management, preferably Saas systems.
Proven experience in labor risks and other areas of HR compliance.
A degree in Labor Relations, HR, Law, or similar.
Experience in startups or fast-growing companies.
Outstanding communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
Native or fluent Spanish, and at least professional English (written & spoken).

What are the steps of the hiring process?
First interview (30 minutes) with Horten our People Lead, to know each other, know more about the company and our culture, the position and the team, and if your background and aspirations fit the profile.
Second interview (30 min) with Laura our COO and probably someone from the finance team, to understand the fit with the company.
